The Call for Participation covered the background and goals of the workshop, and explained that attendance was limited and position papers were required. A total of 53 papers were accepted by the program committee and a subset was selected for presentation. In order to meet the workshop goals, in particular reviewing use cases and existing research efforts, finding key domain concepts and essential problems to address eventually solutions , the program was divided in 4 sessions: domain boundaries and definition, use cases, framework technologies, and concluding discussion. The goal of the first session was to understand the challenges in Frameworks for Semantics in Web services.
